Tennessee, Information Literacy, and “America at its Best”

Comments Off

On October 1, 2012,  Governor Bill Haslam issued a proclamation, encouraging all Tennesseans to participate in this very worthy observance throughout the month.

Tennessee certainly represents “America at Its Best”…the proclamation effort was led by  Jeffie Nicholson of the Tennessee Library Association, Dinah Harris, President of the Tennessee Library Association, Hannah Little, President of the Tennessee Association of School Librarians, and Chuck Sherrill, Director of the Tennessee State Library & Archives; the Legislative Committees of the Tennessee Library Association and Tennessee Association of  School Librarians; and the Tennessee State Library & Archives.

“…information literacy provides the tools and skills to successfully find, evaluate, and use information from a diverse array sources in a constantly changing world…” ensuring that America remains at its best during the 21st century and beyond.

Congratulations to the citizens of Tennessee!
