Montana Celebrates Information Literacy!
Montana’s Governor Schweitzer recognizes October, 2012 as Information Literacy Awareness Month in the state of Montana!
According to Governor Schweitzer, “the success of Montana’s citizens at home, at school, at work and as part of a healthy community depends on it.”

Montana becomes the fourth state to recognize information literacy as critical to the overall economic and social welfare of its citizens in the 21st century.
Kudos to the Montana proclamation team for securing this very important policy statement – Sue Samson, Professor, Humanities Librarian, and Library Instruction Coordinator for Mansfield Library at The University of Montana—Missoula coordinated the initiative.
