Health Literacy: A National Responsibility – Our Brothers’ Keeper
In an article recently published (March, 2013) in the College and Undergraduate Libraries Journal, Dr. Lana W. Jackman, President of the National Forum on Information Literacy, interviewed a pioneer of the health literacy movement, Helen Osborne. Ms. Osborne critically assesses the importance of health literacy practice and its challenges gaining traction in our nation’s political mine field of healthcare politics. Ms. Osborne also initiated Health Literacy Month, the same month as National Information Literacy Awareness Month – October.
