Dr. Dane Ward
Dean of Milner Library at Illinois State University, Dr. Ward is also the founder of the Illinois Center for Information Literacy and founding Director of the University’s Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program in School Librarianship. In 2006, he received a Library Services and Technology Act grant to establish an Illinois Center for Information Literacy which he also leads. A frequent workshop presenter and author of articles on information literacy, organizational culture, and collaboration, Ward has been a faculty member of ACRL’s Institute for Information Literacy.
In 2000, he co-edited and co-authored the popular ACRL publication, The Collaborative Imperative: Librarians and Faculty Working Together in the Information Universe. His most recent article, “Re-Visioning Information Literacy for Lifelong Meaning” appeared in the July 2006 issue of Journal of Academic Librarianship. Previous to his current position, he worked as Coordinator of Information Literacy at Wayne State University and as Coordinator of Library Instruction at Central Michigan University.
Dane is a graduate of Indiana University and Florida State University.
