Dr. A.J. Christy Wright
Prior to becoming a professional librarian, Dr. Wright was a systems programmer, systems engineer, and technical marketing manager at IBM. Dr. Wright has held administrative and adjunct faculty positions Prince George Community College in Largo, Maryland.
Additionally, Dr. Wright often works as a librarian consultant. Dr. Wright is vice president of the Board of Trustees for the Prince George’s County Memorial Library System, board member of the Maryland Advisory Council on Libraries, executive board member for Black Ski, Inc., and founder and member of the Literary Ladies Book Club, established in 1991.
Dr. Wright holds a B.S. degree in mathematics from Morgan State University, an M.L.S. from the University of Maryland College Park and an Ed.D in higher education from Morgan State University. Research interests include pre-service training for academic librarians for teaching information literacy, professional development, and preparing the first year college student for success by teaching them mathematics and research skills, which will help them stay in college.
